ZYTIGA® (abiraterone acetate) is for men who have castration-resistant prostate cancer (also known as CRPC, which is defined as prostate cancer that is resistant to medical or surgical treatments that lower testosterone) that has spread to other parts of the body (called metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer, or mCRPC) and who have received chemotherapy with docetaxel.

If you're living with metastatic CRPC (mCRPC), your treatment journey to this point has probably been a difficult one. Whether you're the patient or the caregiver, you may feel as if all treatment possibilities have been exhausted. But ZYTIGA® may offer you another option.

How Does ZYTIGA® Work?

Reducing the production of androgen is key in helping you and your doctor manage your illness. Androgens are primarily made by the testes and adrenal glands. But in men with mCRPC, there's an additional source: the tumor itself.

ZYTIGA® works by interrupting the androgen-making process at an important step thereby reducing the amount of androgen being made.

ZYTIGA® blocks androgen production at three sources — the testes, the adrenal glands, and the tumor itself.

The Benefits of ZYTIGA®

Results from a clinical trial showed that certain men with mCRPC who had received chemotherapy with docetaxel and were treated with ZYTIGA® plus prednisone lived longer than men who were treated with placebo plus prednisone.

In this clinical trial, the median survival for men treated with ZYTIGA® plus prednisone was 15.8 months versus 11.2 months for men taking placebo plus prednisone.

In addition, ZYTIGA® is an oral medication that you can take at home.

It's time to find out about another option to help you fight your illness. Make an appointment with your doctor specifically to ask if ZYTIGA® is right for you.
